Leonard Bernsteins Young People’s Concerts waren in den USA der Babyboomer-Generation ein einmaliges nationales mediales Ereignis. Zur besten Sendezeit produzierte der unnachahmliche Maestro für den landesweiten Kanal CBS zwischen 1958 und 1972 immer wieder unterhaltsame Programme, die Kinder – und längst nicht nur Kinder – facettenreich, humorvoll und aufschlussreich in die weite Welt der Musik einführten. Mit seinem unwiderstehlichen Charme und seiner unbändigen Leidenschaft für jegliche Musik schaffte es Bernstein, eine ganze Generation von „jungen Leuten“ für die Geheimnisse der Musik zu interessieren. Der dritte und letzte Teil der vom Label C Major erstmals vollständig veröffentlichten Reihe enthält 15 Episoden der Serie, außerdem drei Young Performers Concerts, in denen junge Talente (darunter Edo de Waart, Horacio Gutiérrez und Lawrence Foster) zu sehen sind. Sämtliche Aufnahmen wurden von den Originalbändern bestmöglich restauriert und verfügen erstmals über deutsche Untertitel.
